The key factors are the quality of the raw materials, a transparent composition and gentle processing. High-quality herbs should come from certified sources and be free from unnecessary additives such as sugar, artificial flavourings or chemical preservatives.
At EWALIA, we use carefully selected herbs of pharmacopoeia quality and process them in our own production facility in Austria. This results in high-quality herbal products with traceable formulations and consistently high quality.
1. Better absorption and availability: Herbal juices contain the active ingredients in dissolved form, which facilitates their absorption by the body. They are often better tolerated, particularly by animals with sensitive digestion or poor chewing ability (e.g. older horses or dogs).
2. Higher bioavailability: Due to their liquid form, nutrients and phytochemicals are absorbed into the bloodstream more quickly, meaning they take effect sooner. Dried herbs must first be broken down in the digestive tract, which takes longer.
3. No dust: Dried herbs can produce dust, which can be particularly problematic for sensitive airways (e.g. horses with COB or dogs with allergies). Herbal liquids are dust-free and are therefore also suitable for animals with respiratory conditions.
4. Easier dosing & feeding: Herbal liquids are easier to mix into feed or administer directly into the mouth. The liquid form can be particularly beneficial for fussy animals, as acceptance is often higher than with bitter-tasting, dried herbs.
5. No risk from poor-quality feed: Some dried herbs lose their active ingredients due to incorrect storage or may contain fungi, mould or harmful substances. High-quality herbal liquids are freshly pressed and gently processed, ensuring that the active ingredients are largely preserved.
Simply mix the specified amount into your pet’s favourite food. For horses, concentrated feed such as oats, muesli, mash or hay cobs is usually used. For dogs, it is recommended to mix the juices into wet food. Some customers prefer to administer the product using a syringe if several animals have free access to the same food or are fussy eaters.
